Maryland's move to the Big Ten Conference will be effective July 1, 2014, leaving the basketball teams to play two lame duck seasons in the ACC.

Terps fans, start saving up now for your plane tickets and rental cars; the 2014-15 Big Ten Women's Basketball Championship will be held in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, outside Chicago.

At least the team will still play in the ACC/BIG 10 Challenge.

Guess I will purchase my ACC Tourney tickests now since this will be the last hoorah like Hostess Twinkies.

Breaking News....Washington Mystics will join the ACC for Women's Basketball.

Just watch--the ACC will get UConn to replace MD and create the best women's basketball conference ever (UConn, Notre Dame, Duke, UNC, etc.) But, at least MD will be rich. Thanks Wally.

LOL!! Mystics in ACC! Since this Big Ten move is all about money, pay the student athletes - let them share in the goodies.

I could have sworn that getting a Full-Ride Scholarship and stippen when traveling, was their paycheck for playing at the school. The money is going to help fund the athletic programs and at least for Maryland, bring back some of the teams that were eliminated this year.
Maybe, Under Armour (Kevin Plank) can have on hand a couple of private jets for the teams to use for travel to the mid-west.

It works the other way too. As a tour guide, I'm excited to think that Big 10 fans will be arriving by the plane loads for games. Not only will they want to see Maryland, but the whole of Washington DC awaits them .... money in my pocket!
