Shay Watch. It's possible (though still unconfirmed) that the New York Liberty's regular season roster may actually be complete -- well ahead of the WNBA's required cut-off date. WNBA teams are permitted to carry 11 active and 2 inactive players (though sometimes they carry fewer due to salary cap considerations). Currently the Liberty roster consists of 14 players; however, one, Angelina Williams, is listed on the WNBA's April 30th Transactions report as being cut that day by the Liberty. So, once again the BasketCases resort to higher mathematics (14 - 1 = 13; 11 + 2 = 13; 13 = 13!) and conclude that barring some unforeseen roster move by New York, Shay Doron looks very likely to have made the team!

Watch Shay! In yesterday's Training Camp Notes, the Mystics report . . .
"The Mystics will host the New York Liberty on Wednesday, May 9th for the team’s open practice at Trinity University. Doors will open at noon. The practice is free to the public…"
So, if you just can't wait until August when the Liberty come to Verizon Center . . . you might be able to catch a glimpse of Shay at the Mystics-Liberty scrimmage next week if you can sneak away from work in the middle of the day. Now if you're a BasketCases old-timer, you already know what you have to do, but if you're a relatively new BasketCases reader, we have two words for you . . . Loose Fillings! The BasketCases already sense a dental emergency looming in their future -- specifically a week from today around lunchtime.

I'm definetly going to be there. I'm been researching how to get there and I hope I don't get too lost. Take the redline to Brookland and look for the Trinity shuttle. I hope your dentist appointment goes as planned.
