Too Little, Too Late. As they did against Detroit on Friday night, the Mystics dug themselves a deep hole during the first half this afternoon against the Fever. Also as they did on Friday, the Mystics narrowed the gap during the last quarter. But unlike Friday, it was just too late, and the Mystics fell to Indy, 69-62.

As far as the BasketCases are concerned, the best thing at the Phone Booth today was that Maryland was doing a season ticket promotion for the women's basketball team. They had cool ads on the Jumbotron, as well as a table on the concourse where they were handing out great Maryland stuff! Not that the BasketCases are lacking for any Terps gear, but you can never have too much, and so we snagged some Tees, hats, and pompoms. And in case you missed the Terps Table, don't fret . . . they're coming back two more times this season, so you'll have a couple more chances to get your season tix if you don't already have them, as well as pick up some neat Maryland swag.

Speaking of the Terps . . . Today in Moscow, the USA U21 team won its third game in as many days, defeating Hungary 93-70. Crystal Langhorne was one of four American players who finished in double figures. We're sorry to report that Lang wasn't perfect from the field today -- she only hit 5 of her 6 attempts, finishing with 13 points. Candice Wiggins led all scorers with 21. The USA team finally gets a day off tomorrow, before facing their next opponent, Spain, on Tuesday, followed by their last opponent in this round of play, Japan, on Wednesday (that would be the Fourth of July).
