DC BasketCases
A friendly asylum for a couple of crazy DC-area women's basketball fans, where we share some news, some opinions, as well as a little of almost anything else that our demented minds dredge up having to do with the WNBA, the Maryland Terrapins, or any other team, player or character associated with the world of women's hoops.

I was kinda hoping they'd take Harper, but Crystal's going to be a very fine pro. As a Colonials and Mystics fan it would have been ideal for me to see Kim Beck go to the 'Stics in Round the Third, but maybe they didn't want to seem excessively homerish.
I think a big trade may still be in the works. Not involving Lang, of course - the Mystics want to add new fans and bring back some old ones back, not drive more away - but they still need a point guard. DMJ is beloved by many fans, but she's reached an age at which her value might start diminishing. And dealing her would give Lang a better chance to develop.
I hope Kim sticks with Seattle, or whatever other team she might end up with. Still would've enjoyed having her in D.C. as a backup (at least at first). On a team with Beard, Currie and Langhorne, even Stacey Dales wouldn't keep insisting she had to look for her own shot more.

Mystics also drafted 6'4" Plumier of UCLA, Krystal Vaughn, 6'1" forward. Watching our rivals, look who Liberty signed - E.Carson, E. Larkins, Wanisha Smith, and Auguste from Tenn.
Wow!
Go Mystics!!
For the record, the Liberty had TWO First-round picks, thanks to a trade. That's how they got both Carson and Larkins.
