In 11 years of following the Mystics, we have to say that tonight's loss to the Liberty, 79-60, was one of the most disappointing performances we've ever seen. We kept looking for signs of a "team," but frankly, all we saw was a collection of individual players. No coherent offense. No discernible defensive coordination. Were we missing something or is there something missing with this "team"?

Taj put up 26 points and 12 rebounds. She came to play. Alana added 20 points, mostly creating her own shots. We certainly can't fault those two players. But where was the rest of the "team"? 0-6 (Mo), 0-5 (Blue), 1-4 (Coco) from our guards/small forward does not win ballgames. Only 9 assisted baskets does not win ballgames. 1-9 from behind the arc does not win ballgames. Where's the coaching? What's the plan? Maybe the answers will come Sunday. We certainly hope so.

#1 pick next Draft...Courtney Paris? Angel McCoughtry? I'll be surprised if there are not massive changes in the front office and on the team.

#1 pick next year: Kristi Toliver

Beard scores 20 points by creating her own shots... go figure! No offense, but the "team" somehow seemed to play better without her!? Love her game, but maybe she needs to work on making her team better...

... and one more thing--- I hope Mo Currie shows up this summer!

Mo Currie has been an enigma for years. They probably need to trade her and take McCoughtry with the #1 pick. Maybe they can get something else, or another pick in return for Currie. The Mystics rarely seem to get the better end of deals.

Pat Summitt was a total disaster and took ridiculous money from this team. Not much has changed since. Obviously, Holdsclaw was a blow that is still hard to recover from.

Why did we waiver Lindsay Taylor and sign a point guard?

McCoughtry wouldn't be a bad pick, but let's face it, the Mystics need a point guard & there's one right up the road that will be available...KT. They need a conductor, not another instrument.

I don't disagree about the need for a PG and wish we would've used our 2nd rd pick on one this year. I say McCoughtry because she is the kind of physical freak that can be a star in a league that is increasingly athletic. KT will surely be selected in the 1st round as well, barring a bad senior year. Her and Renee Montgomery come to mind as the top two PGs next season.

Mo Currie had not and has not showed up since she left Duke.
Mystics have talents, but still don’t know how to play as a team. They lack leadership, motivation and passion for the game.
Very sad!
Hopefully Taj may bring leadership this season.

Mystics should have picked a good PG with the 2nd pick.

I have been a Mystics fan since the were a expansion team, I thought that year was tough. They had no real team then, just a bunch of players and a coach. Fast forward 10 years, more of the same, except no coach. I understand the owners what to keep home town players and all that, but lets get some good ones. Why not trade for Rebeka Brunson. I find myself losing intrest in this mess. Caryln Peck is not doing anything right now, why not give her a shot. I understand that Koen(sp) won the 3 point shoot out, but at the end of the day what is she really adding to this team? This team has great fan support, but to be honest there is not much to support. The coach to me, seems like he wants to be somewhere else and so the team is playing with his attitude.

Have you listened to Carolyn Peck on TV? She has nothing to say. She was hired at Florida, one of the nation's richest athletic departments, and couldn't be competitive in the SEC. No way she would be the answer. They need people on the bench and in the front office that are competent, on top of things, ahead of things, capable of evaluating personnel and people and probably with a track record of success.

I agree, the GM is terrible. The draft was a bust. We passed on players that are actually helping there teams right now, for what. Mabe we are the Miami Heat of the WNBA(Calling this season a rap, and looking forward to the draft)If that is the case then we need a GM that can evaluate talent or at least watches NCAA womens basketball. If I am correct only two players that we drafted this year are still on the team, and some good players were drafted after us, that is just bad.
AB has done everything that she should here, she has no suport and the front office is not putting around her players that will make this team better. Langhorne was a great college player but I dont think she was the best Maryland player in the draft this year. I think Harper will be a better pro.
