Selling (during) the Games, Part 2

As the controversy over the "Expect Great" ads continues, we can't help but feel a great deal of nostalgia for the very best commercials that ever ran during WNBA games -- the Nike "Little Rascals" series, broadcast during the Monistat yeast infection era, a decade ago. For those who have never seen them, and for those who, like us, still enjoy watching them, here they are (thanks to the wonders of YouTube) back again by popular demand!

#3, But Still Great!

Those are so funny, they still make me laugh. The target audience sure has changed. I agree about the new ads. I think they are unfortunate. Call me cynical, but I don't think the target audience of these ads are ever going to be women's basketball fans. BTW, a little late, but watching Harp's performance in her first game was fantastic. Go Harp! Go Lang!

Tina's facial expressions make that first one magic, but "your mama can't help your jump shot" used to have me rolling on the floor in helpless laughter ten years ago.

Thanks for gathering them up again, they were great to watch.

I can't believe I've never seen these...they are awesome!!! They ought to run them again with some of the new stars. I can totally see Beard, DT, Cappie, J-Mac etc. So much better than "Expect Great".

Those do bring back memories. Actually, they pushed me over the fence on which I was sitting to become a season-ticket holder. One of the best decisions I ever made!

Thanks so much for running those again! They were fabulous-even though Nike is not my favorite company!! I loved the camera angles and the 'tude of the girls! I used look forward to those commercials!! Can't the Mystics produce something on their own- like the Sky did? I see a fan promotional opportunity - fans submit ideas, win lunch with a player!!!!

These are just the best. The "tude" and yes, Tina's expression are priceless. Thank you so much for running these again! I look at them every day for you can not help but get a smile on your face after watching them. (Especially if you look at them about 10 time each..)

Ah, thanks for digging these up. Back in the day, I VHS taped the first commerical. Of course I have no idea where the tape is now. My favorite line "You know Tina is money down low". In case you do not recognize the little sarcastic actress - she is Kyla Pratt, with roles in the 2000 movie "Love & Basketball" and the TV series One-on-One.
