Duke D.C.?

While the BasketCases were on their road trip last night (coincidence?), the Mystics announced that they have acquired former blue devil guard Lindsey Harding and some late draft picks from the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for D.C.'s 9th pick (first round) and 15th pick (second round) in this year's draft.

Yes, the Styx can use a point guard; and, yes, Lindsey is talented; but, THREE dookies (all likely starters) on a roster of only 11 players? For the record, we wouldn't want 3 TERPS on the roster at one time . . . we like to keep our pro team and college experiences somewhat separate. Hmmmm.

However, since this is our blog, we reserve the right to change our minds . . . if Lindsey helps lead us deep into the playoffs. And then, because it's our blog, we could boast: Didn't we tell you that acquiring Lindsey was a brilliant move?

I just hope her knee holds up this year after two injury-plagued seasons. I like the acquisition, but I hear what you're saying about the "Great Dookie Invasion of DC." It would be one thing if they were known for their numerous NCAA titles.

Like Stewart, I'm a little concerned about the knee. But I do like the fact the organization is finally making some moves!!!!

When virtually everybody was saying the Mystics would have to give up either the #2 pick OR Tasha Humphrey, it was great that the new, professional Mystics staff pulled off this stunning trade!

Yes, I am a Duke fan. And yes, I am excited about the re-uniting of a most excellent back court trio. I don't believe for a second that Terp fans wouldn't celebrate getting a couple more locals onto the Mystics squad.

Lindsey's knee seems to be fully rehabbed by now, judging from her success overseas. I think you'll be quite happy with her in a Mystics uni this year. I'm planning on it.

Maybe Angela sees something we don't. Let's hope. We must trust Angela!
