BREAKING NEWS: Crystal Langhorne named to WNBA All Star Team!

Moments ago, during ESPN2's broadcast of Connecticut's game in San Antonio, Pam Ward and Rebecca Lobo announced the full roster for this Saturday's All Star Team, including the players who have been selected by the coaches to join those voted in by the fans. Among the former group: the Mystics' very own Crystal Langhorne, who is having such a remarkable season that one writer has just proposed she be named Most Improved Player for a second consecutive year!

It comes as no surprise to Mystics fans that Lang has now been chosen as an All Star.

Congratulations to Lang on this well-deserved honor!

Wednesday AM Update: More accolades for Lang! Today Crystal was named WNBA Eastern Conference Player-of-the-Month!! And what a month she had . . . congratulations, Crystal!

Congrats to Lang! Harding should be there too and not Beckie Hammon but oh well. The only silver star that deserved it was Sophia young. They better find a new system. Glad for Lang though. Well deserved!

Lindsey will in fact be in Connecticut to participate in the USA Basketball National Team's training camp, although she is not on the roster for the "Stars at the Sun" game itself.

Thanks BC's. Good to know. She deserves to be on that team. More than Renee Montgomery. Hopefully Geno is neutral and picks the best player.

First of all - congrats to Lang on this well deserved recognition.

Second, I've fallen on my sword repeatedly over my dissing of the pick of Langhorne. I am VERY pleased to be wrong. I did not foresee that she would make EVERY improvement in her game that was needed to be successful. Her hard work is paying off in spades.

Third, Harding should have been named to the US team over Montgomery, no question. They needed a back up point. Renee didn't even play point for Geno's team! She has shot lights out early in the season, but once she goes cold (which she will, tonight 1-7), she brings little, other than having played for Geno. That is not a good reason! I believe Geno picked the players for the game, but USA Bball will pick for the US team in the World Championships. Lindsey will win the spot going head to head against Renee, assuming the USA pickers will overrule Geno who has already stated his bias. He wants his own players.

Currie and Harding will replace the Seattle Storm’s Lauren Jackson and the Atlanta Dream’s Sancho Lyttle.

YAY more 'stics!! Congrats!
