It's Too Late
But it's too late readers, it's just too late
Though we really would like to watch it
Something inside’s too tired and we can't hide
And we just can't make it
Tonight, the Mystics face off against the Phoenix Mercury, the team they beat last Sunday in a high-scoring run & gun affair at the Verizon Center. This time the teams will be meeting in Phoenix (where the temperature was 113 degrees when the Mystics arrived yesterday . . . but it was a dry heat, so it only felt like 110).
Tip off is scheduled for 10 PM EDT . . . meaning that the game won't be decided until after midnight our time. And this being a school night, the BCs are not planning to stay up to watch this one. Which also means no late-night blogging. (But if you're a night owl and feel like sharing a brief comment about the game, be our guest.)
Go Mystics . . . Beat the Heat Mercury!

This may be one of the few times that insomnia may be a blessing. I'm hoping to work on a few documents for work tomorrow during the game.
Does anyone know DT's status for tonight's game?
As far as we know, Taurasi is still listed as "day to day."

Hopefully I can stay up for at least an hour of it.
It was worth staying up. What a clutch effort. Very nice to see Marissa in double figures.
Mystics win 107-104
What a great game! Five Mystics in double-figures led by Katie Smith with 25.
So many clutch plays. Currie took over 3rd quarter, scoring 13 of her 18 points.
Katie scored the last 9 points of the game, including 6 for 6 free throws.
Coleman hit a 3 pointer in the fourth when Mystics were up by only 2 (91-89).
Lang was her usual magnificent self with 21 points and a bucket of rebounds.
I can't believe how much tougher this team is compared to last year. They know how to win. It's clearly Katie Smith's influence - and maybe a good dose of Marianne Stanley as well.
Go Styx - beat the Shock!
WHOOP WHOOP! 107-104! WOW It was worth staying up for. GO MYSTICS! beat the Shock! GO DCBC!
I only made it to halftime, and woke up to WOW!
It's going be tough to wait until this evening to watch the live access replay. Maybe I'll just peek at those last twelve seconds...
