What It All Means. Mystics fans already know that not having DeLisha Milton-Jones able to play for most (if not all) of the remainder of the season will have a huge impact on the team. In today's Washington Post, Coach Richie Adubato explains just how much that impact will be. In Richie's words,
"This is a big loss for us because DeLisha brings so much to our team. She's our only big [player] who can shoot from the outside and that stretches the defense. Not having her is detrimental for us because in my offense, we've always had a [power forward] who could shoot from the outside."
In addition, Zane Teilane, who has now been activated, is, according to Richie, not quite ready for prime time:
"'We just hope Zane can give us three or four minutes a game -- she's a project. She's still a couple of years away' from being a major contributor."
Or, in Latvian: "Ceram, ka Zane mums varēs spēlē palīdzēt 3 vai 4 minūtes.”

It's gonna take a committee to make up for Dee being out. Nakia HAS to play smarter and not make those silly fouls. She's capable of a double double. But she's also capable of playing wild and out of control. We need the good Nakia and the bad Nakia needs to be a thing of the past. C-Rob is gonna have to dig deep and pick up her outside scoring. Alana and Niki need to keep doing what they do.

Will this adversity cause us to collapse, or will it bring out the best in the rest? It's 2002 all over.

It's time for Tamara James to stop thinking and start playing the game. She can flat out shoot the basketball, and she can take it to the rack. Just check out her NCAA stats in Miami.

This is a hugh loss. I guess it's a wait and see if we can recover. I checked out the stats on Zane, not bad but Richie knows best. I saw her at practice, she will get pushed around. I agree they should use Tamara James she has a pretty good game. I think Crystal is the one that needs to step up. Go Mystics!
