Roster Update. Thanks to the astute reporting by the Washington Post's Sports Bogster, Dan Steinberg, we learned that the Mystics now have on their roster a 6'7" Center out of NC State by the name of "Conley."

If you're thinking that you never heard of a post player named "Conley," that's because the day before yesterday, her name was Goring! Yes, Gillian Got Married!

Dan's blog is absolutely hysterical (high praise, indeed, from the BasketCases)! He not only breaks the news about Gillian's wedding, but also breaks the news about Alana and TJ's (ahem, pun definitely intended) breaking wind . . . and more. If you want to start your day with a good laugh, don't miss Dan's column.

Also in this morning's Washington Post, the Mystics beat reporter, Marc Craig, has an excellent feature on Nakia Sanford. Nothing laugh-out-loud funny but well worth your time to read, as Marc writes about Kia's growth from a bench player to a WNBA starter.

Congratulations to Gillian and Stephan . . . as soon as we find out where the happy couple is registered, we promise to share that information with our readers. (But note: the BasketCases already have dibs on the toaster!)

Gillian's an N.C. State lady. You would not give her, or any Wolfpacker (or Terrapin for that matter), a sky-blue toaster.

Nice article on Nakia. She doesn't always get the props she deserves - even from me. Mystic fans have for years lamented not having a "Big." Yet if you look at Nakia's numbers next to say TSB or RR (two centers the Mystics really wanted to get), Nakia is doing just as good or better than both of them. She just needs to cut down on the TOs. Note to team: "Do not pass the ball to Nakia unless she is in the paint - DEEP in the paint."

Thanks for catching our color faux pas! (As Terps fans, we are even more chagrined!) We will be sure to order the toaster in red!
