Here it is!!!!!!
At 2PM today, the lights in Comcast Center dimmed and drapes dropped from the Jumbotron to the court. Images of the team were projected onto the drapes as video highlights from the National Championship game played on the Jumbotron. The drapes then fell to the court, giving us all our first view of the unfurled Championship banner. Goose bump time!!
Oh yeah, there was a game today. George Mason was the sacrificial lamb for Maryland's banner-raising home opener. The local team from Northern Virginia gave it everything they had, but they were simply overmatched. With 5:30 left in the first half, when Brenda Frese took Kristi Toliver out of the game for good, KT had already scored 16 points to Mason's 15. The rest of the Terps had added another 22. At halftime, the score was 50-20, and the final score was 99-43. Every Terp scored, six of them in double figures.
Fear the Happy Turtle.
The End. (And the Beginning.)
