Happy July 4th!!!

It's not much fun reading about the Mystics right now (or watching them), so in honor of the holiday, we thought we'd put up a link to a recent and very interesting article by one of the BasketCases' favorite authors, David McCullough, about the history of John Trumbull's iconic painting shown above. (You didn't really think the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, did you?) And we also thought we'd give a listen today to one of our favorite Broadway cast albums, the original 1969 recording (yes, we're that old) of "1776." Good music, great story, and if you've never seen the show live, don't miss it when you next have the chance. (We won't give away the ending in case you don't know how it all turns out.)

Interesting article -- thanks for putting it up. I'm a more learned person for learning the term "shin-piece!"
