Congratulations To . . .

The Terps' Marissa Coleman, who was named today to USA Basketball's Pan American Games Team. Marissa and her USA teammates, coached by basketball legend Dawn Staley, will be playing in the tournament in Rio de Janeiro from July 20-24th. Good Luck, Marissa!

Congratulations also to the Mystics' Alana Beard and DeLisha Milton-Jones, both of whom were named today to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2007 WNBA All-Star Game. The (Almost) All-Star Game will be held here in Washington this coming Sunday at the Verizon Center. Alana and DeLisha were selected by the Eastern Conference Coaches. Good Luck, AB & Dee!

It's great that Alana and DeLisha got selected for the All Star game. It's a shame that women don't get the air time the men get.

When some of the commentators wonder how Anna Deforge and others made it onto the team....let's just remember that last year several teams had ballot box stuffing parties. They recruited their STH's to come to parties with contests for submitting the most ballots with their own team punched.

How much did the Mystics do to promote voting for our team? A week before the deadline there was a splash page on the homepage. I had to go out of my way to find hard copy ballots at the stadium.

If the Mystics (the organization, not the team) cared, they would have been arm twisting us into voting like they do in Chicago - early and often.
